During cold weather, the body’s circulation does slow down, and that can indeed contribute to joint pain or stiffness, especially in people or animals with arthritis or joint sensitivity. Here’s how it works:

When the temperature drops, your body naturally redirects blood flow toward vital organs (like the heart and lungs) to preserve core temperature.
➡️This means less warm blood reaches the muscles, joints, and extremities, which can cause them to feel stiff, achy, or sluggish.

Cold weather makes muscles and connective tissues contract slightly, reducing flexibility and increasing friction around the joints.
